Mrs. Guillen is a Cosmetology Instructor at The Center for Career and Technology Education and has taught here since 2003. Prior to teaching at CCTE she taught introduction to cosmetology at Austin High School. Mrs. Guillen is a graduate of Burgess high school and CCTE. She received her Cosmetology License at CCTE in 1985. She pursued her career in teaching in 1992 where she received her Instructors license from Tri State Beauty Collage. Mrs. Guillen is an active advisor of SKILLS USA and a member of Cosmetology Instructors in Public Schools CIPS. She uses her years of salon experience to provide the skills students need to be successful in the cosmetology industry. The combination of her salon and teaching experience allows her to prepare her students to successfully complete the Texas Cosmetology Licensing Exam. This license gives the CCTE student the advantage as they graduate from high school to go immediately out into the workforce and or on to post-secondary education.
